At 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 1989, 18-year-old Kaitlyn Arquette, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who had recently graduated from high school and gotten her own apartment, stopped by her parents' home en route to visit a new girlfriend, Sharon Smith. Kait told her parents that Sharon had invited her for dinner and had given her written directions to her house in OldTown. Kait also said that she was breaking up with her live-in Vietnamese boyfriend, Dung Ngoc Nguyen, and if he called trying to find her, not to say where she was.
Kait kept her dinner date with Sharon and left her friend's home at 10:45 p.m. The Albuquerque police think that while driving east on Lomas Blvd. in the direction of her parents' house, she was shot twice in the head. Her car jumped the median and came to rest against a pole at the intersection of Lomas and Arno Streets. Kait survived 20 hours in a coma and died the next evening.
The first officer to arrive at the scene of the shooting was an off-duty Albuquerque Police Department (APD) violent crimes detective, Ronald Merriman, who just happened to be passing by. He reported that as he drove past he saw two vehicles parked on the sidewalk, Kait's red Ford Tempo and a second vehicle, which is not described in police reports, but which he later recalled to be a VW Bug. He also said he saw a man, later identified as Paul Apodaca, standing next to Kait's car. The detective radioed in to ask if a traffic accident had been reported at that location. None had. He returned to the scene anddiscovered an unconscious, blood-drenched girl lying across the front seats of the Ford. According to Merriman, Apodaca explained that he was not involved and had just stopped to see what had happened.
The first uniformed officer dispatched to the scene, Mary Ann Wallace, arrived within 40 seconds. Wallace reported seeingonly one vehicle on the sidewalk -- Kait's Ford Tempo, with Merriman standing nearby, talkingwith Apodaca – some years later Wallace “recalls” a VW Bug at the scene. Wallace said the call had been dispatched as an accident without injury. But when she arrived on scene Merriman told her that an ambulance was enroute. However, no record has been found of such a call.
Wallace and Merriman dispute each other about what happened next. Wallace says Merriman gave her the identification information on Apodaca. Merriman says it was Wallace’s responsibility to get that information. In Wallace’s report, the identification information includes a name and age - but no address - and an incorrect telephone number. In later interviews, Wallace said that she felt something was wrong with the scene, but Merriman continued to “argue” that it was simply a car accident. Wallace says she called for a supervisor. Merriman says he called for a supervisor. The supervisor indicates she was requested by Merriman. Apodaca later told others that he never saw or talked to Wallace. To this day, no police officer has ever interviewed Apodaca. Nor have police questioned the disappearance of his VW Bug between the time Merriman saw it parked next to Kait's car and the time Wallace arrived.
In their accounts of what happened at the scene that night, Merriman and Wallace have stated that, accompanied by Apodaca, they opened the passenger’s door of Kait’s vehicle and observed a girl sprawled across the two seats, bleeding profusely from the head. Wallace noted that the victim was “moaning and crying.”
Not only are the recollections of Wallace and Merriman sometimes at odds with each other, their versions are contradicted by responding medical personnel. For example, Merriman and Wallace indicated they were on the scene when rescue arrived. However, medics with Albuquerque Ambulance, who transported Kait to the hospital, have stated in individual affidavits that they responded upon hearing that an accident had occurred – they were not dispatched to the scene. As they arrived in the areathere were no cops, police cars or bystanders present. They found Kait alone in her car, unconscious and bleeding from two head wounds. If the medics are right, the veracity of a statement made by Merriman that he couldn’t interview Paul Apodaca because he “had to stay with the victim,” becomes an issue.
Officer Wallace has stated that Merriman told her not to interview Apodaca because he had already done so, and she busied herself “directing traffic.” Yet, according to the rescue team, she was not directing traffic, and in fact was not even at the scene when they got there. The medical team stated that they almost missed the scene due to the lack of a police presence.
The contradictions of what took place at the scene aside, the police theory of the case in not entirely credible. They believe Kait was chased down on Lomas and shot twice in the head at a stoplight at the corner of Lomas and John streets. Her car then proceeded to travel 719 feet, cross two traffic lanes, go over the median, cross three more lanes, go up onto the sidewalk past the Arno intersection, and crash into a light pole. They say the location of the shooting was defined by a large pile of broken glass at Lomas and John. However, evidence of that glass was never documented. It was not gathered up as evidence or photographed.
With no suspects and so many unanswered questions, the Arquette family launched their own investigation into Kait's murder. They and their investigator speculate that the crime scene may have been altered before police investigators got there. The police criminalistics personnel arrived late because they had been busy at a police shooting. According to their report, they were met at the scene by a Sgt. John Gallegos. It appears that the initial information about the scene was based upon information from Gallegos rather than personal observations or investigation. Sgt. John B. Gallegos was subsequently fired from the department for burglarizing a liquor store while on duty.
In 2003, after reviewing copies of APD reports, forensic reports, scene photos, etc., a member of the Bernallilo County Cold Case Squad came up with the following interpretation of the crime scene:
On the basis of review of available material in the matter of the death of Kaitlyn Arquette, the following observations are made (emphasis added):
1) This was not a random drive-by shooting
2) The shooting occurred after Kaitlyn's vehicle had struck the utility pole
3) The accuracy of the shots suggests they were fired at a very close range, at a non-moving target.
4) Had the shooting taken place while the victim's car was in motion, it would have veered to the right of the roadway due to the left-to-right camber of the pavement. Also, the victim's falling to the right would have turned the steering wheel in that direction if she was grasping the steering wheel at the time of the shooting.
5) Damage to the left end of the rear bumper suggests the rear of her vehicle was struck and pushed to the right by a second vehicle which veered her car across the median and into the utility pole.
6) This shooting was intentional and Ms. Arquette was the specific target.
According to Kait's family, at the time of her murder Kait was in a position to have information relating to Asian criminal activity in New Mexico and California, drug smuggling, drug activities involving New Mexico VIPs, and police corruption. They believe that knowledge and her potential as a whistleblower may have cost Kait her life.
Kaitlyn's murder remains an unsolved cold case over 21 years after her death. Although the police investigation went cold, Kait's parents, Don and Lois Duncan Arquette, didn't give up their hunt for their daughter's killer. They created the Real Crimes Website - http://www.realcrimes.com - on which Kait's and many other unsolved cases are posted. And they continued to work tirelessly to develop information.
This case needs to be solved and the responsible person or persons brought to justice. Somebody knows who killed Kaitlyn Arquette. It's time for anyone with information to come forward and help bring this case to resolution. If you know anything at all about who murdered Kait, please contact Crime Wire at thecrimewire@gmail.com.
On January 25, the Crime Wire Team talked with investigators and the parents of Kaitlyn Arquette. You can listen to the interview here:
Charlie Ralph Cameron of New York, NY was found murdered in his bedroom on April 6, 2006. The 60-year-old had been stabbed in the back and his throat slashed. His brutalized body was found by his 13 year old son, Adam.
Adam lived in New Jersey with his mother, Savitrie, and his two older brothers. During the week, Savitrie drove Adam to his father’s New York City apartment, and from there he went to the local grade school he attended. After dropping him off his mother continued on to her job as an NYC Corrections Officer. In the afternoon she picked him up at school for the drive home.
When Adam entered the apartment on the morning of April 5 his father was nowhere to be seen and his bedroom door was closed. Assuming his dad was still sleeping, Adam watched a little TV and then went to school. When he returned the next morning he found the same thing, no sign of his father and the bedroom door was still closed. Becoming alarmed, Adam decided to open the bedroom door for a look. He found his dad's bloody body lying on the floor. The room was in disarray and there was blood on the walls and floor. Adam ran from the room and called 911.
According to Adam, about a week later he and his mother went to the 23rd Precinct to speak with the detectives working his father's homicide. Sources had informed the police that Charlie had been involved with a married woman. And that a month or so before the murder, Charlie had an altercation with the woman's husband.
However, Adam felt the officers didn't take that information seriously because they were talking, laughing, joking, and eating, during the interview. Adam then told investigators about a safe his father kept in his bedroom. The police had located the safe on the terrace off of the living room of the apartment. It had been forced open and was empty.
The now 17-year-old says this was the first and only time the police cooperated with his family. Since that time the lead investigator has not met with the family, is never in his office when they call, and has never returned their calls.
Adam is distressed about the lack of progress in the case and is not happy about how the police have conducted the investigation overall. For example, the apartment was sealed off after the murder. When the family was allowed access months later, the living room was strewn with papers and clothes. The police told the Daily News that the apartment had been ransacked prior to their arrival. But Adam says that is not true. On the morning he discovered his father's body the only room with things out of place was the bedroom. Who ransacked the apartment and why remains a mystery to Adam and his family.
Adam thinks the lack of effort on the part of the police may have something to do with a confrontation his father had with officers in 2000 or 2002, that resulted in Charlie filing a lawsuit alleging an excessive use of force.
And the story took an additional twist when police sources told a Daily News reporter in July 2010 that Savitrie herself is a "person of interest" in the case. Adam, his mother and brothers, are embroiled in a battle with the Hartford Life Insurance Company over collecting on a $358,000 policy Charlie had in force at the time of his death. (Daily News Article)
So who killed Charlie Cameron? Was it a jealous husband or his estranged girlfriend? Or perhaps it was a random burglar or some other as yet unknown individual. Whoever the murderer is, his or her identity needs to be established and an arrest made. Adam wants a resolution and Charlie Cameron deserves justice.

Dennis Griffin is the Author of several True Crime books, including The Battle for Las Vegas, Cullotta, and Surviving the Mob.
As a former homicide prosecutor and now consultant on murder cases, I often hear complaints from victim's families about how they are treated by the police. The complaints repeatedly center on a number of issues.
First, that the police aren't providing the family with enough information or that they fail to keep the family in the loop on where the investigation is.
Second, families complain that the police haven't followed up on the leads they've provided.
Third, families complain that the police don't want to accept help from outside parties, be they other law enforcement agencies such as the FBI or state investigative bureaus or retired detectives or consultants and third party search groups.
It has always struck me that in going behind these complaints, that both the victims' families and the police are partially to blame for these complaints. But more importantly, the solution to these complaints is often straightforward.
First, it is incumbent upon the police to keep the family informed. Whether the investigation is a day old, a year old or a decade old there should be regular communication between the lead investigator and a family member. The family should assign one member to handle the police communications so the police aren't bogged down by replying to several different family members. Having one member keeps the communication clear and enables the police to tell others who inquire about the investigation to contact that family member.
Obviously the longer an investigation goes on, the more infrequent the communications but it's hard to imagine any investigation (this is a murder after all) that doesn't warrant a call to the family once every two to three months.
Second, the complaint that the police aren't following up particular leads can have merit. Police do often fail to really listen to the family about who may be responsible for a loved ones death. Investigators need to constantly go back to the family and ask, "Is there anything we missed? What else or who else is out there?" Often leads come to family well after the victim's murder or disappearance when a guilty conscience finally gets to someone. On the other hand, families need to let the police do their job. They are paid and trained to investigate and even a rookie police detective has more training to do an investigation than virtually any regular citizen. Often investigative methods are so sensitive to reveal them even to a family member can jeopardize their success.
Finally, yes the police are often reluctant to seek outside help. Whether it's true or not (and I suspect it's usually not) the FBI has a reputation for taking over a case and leaving the local law enforcement authorities behind. However, virtually any investigation, especially as leads grow cold, can benefit from fresh eyes and most small departments are ill equipped to handle complex, long term cold cases.
Having faced skeptical police departments myself during my role as a consultant, it's obvious that many departments ask themselves about the motives of any volunteer. "You in this to help or to get your name in the paper?" Any non-law enforcement group should be viewed skeptically but there are groups that want to help without pay or glory.
In the end, a fractured relationship between a family and the investigating authorities makes a challenging case even more difficult to solve. And in the end, both families and law enforcement want the same thing: justice.

Over 100 poster's on the reward money offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of "those" (notice the plural here) responsible for the murder of Sheila Deviney were placed in windows of businesses all across town.
Today, more than half of the reward signs have been removed or torn down. I learned that people in the town of Lindsay, Oklahoma have been threatened to "remove the signs or else."
It seems that the ex-husband of Sheila Deviney, resides in Lindsay, OK, and rumor has it that the towering former football star has been " allegedly" threatening business owners to take these signs down or damage could happen to their property. Well I guess if I were a business owner in that neck of the woods, I might be scared, too. I would not want to see my business torched or damaged because I didn't listen. And the towns folk with good reason are scared so they are doing as they are told. Did I mention that this alleged killer is a volunteer little league football coach for the Lindsay, OK school district.
Shiela Deviney, 30, died on January 6, 2004, when her mobile home, located about one mile east and one mile south of Maysville, Oklahoma, burned to the ground. She was murdered. It should be no surprise that Sheila had been married to an abusive, controlling man. They had a court date over past-due child support scheduled the next day. According to eye witnesses, her ex-husband was at the home, although by law not allowed on the premises. He and others according to recorded, notarized and sworn affidavit statements I have in a secure location as of this past weekend from eye witnesses attest to certain individuals leaving Sheila's property as flames jumped into the sky. Witnesses say those person's allegedly destroyed evidence and took items from the home.
Recorded information and facts on this case was also first broadcast in detail on August 2, 2010, during the Intimate Partner Homicide Investigation radio show with Sheryl, McCollum, Holly Hughes.
It seemsOSBI, Sheriff Steve Brooks and Garvin County Prosecutor Greg Mashburn have done everything in their powers to keep not only this case, but the Chanda Turner and Tom Horton cases from being re-opened, investigated and those responsible prosecuted. The latest in the Sheila Deviney case is that the state wants to destroy the tissue samples by the year 2012, per this Fox News 25 report earlier in the week: Click Here.
Perhaps someone from the Department of Justice can accompany me on my visit next week when I attend back to back events and press conferences in an attempt to have these 3 murder cases finally open for an official investigation. I would also ask for the State Police to be near by, for I am told, allegedly of course, if I go to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, I could be carried out in a body bag.

On May 9, 2010 45 yr. old realtor, Angel Downs, was found shot in the head in her front yard in Gulf Shores, AL. Neighbors heard shots fired and saw former boyfriend and elected Mobile County Commissioner Steve Nodine leaving the scene in his county provided red pickup truck.
After hours of deliberation the grand jury - classified it as a murder, not a suicide as implied by Steve Nodine, the lone suspect. Initial reports of forensics and autopsy reports have said suicide was unlikely. The Defense regularly leaks erroneous information to the media. Angel was taken to the hospital in 2006 – it was determined that it was not an attempted suicide but a possible problem with her medication. The Defense has also stated publicly that the autopsy found drugs in Angel’s system. Angel had to take medication just to stay alive everyday. The sad fact is this is NOT a search for the truth.
Our justice system does more to uphold criminal rights than it does victim’s rights. It means criminals should be prosecuted in a just way. It doesn’t mean letting the criminal lie, cheat or manipulate his way out of the truth, or God forbid coddling him at the expense of the victim!
How many of us remember the names of the Ted Bundy’s victim’s? You don’t - but you remember Ted Bundy’s name. It's high time that we remember the names and the lives of the VICTIMS and not the accused murderers like Drew Peterson and Steve Nodine!
If we speak about what a kind and loving person Angel was the Defense may say they can’t get a fair trail for the accused murderer, because Angel is spoken of too nicely. However Steve Nodine can tell other's he's writing a book and develop a PowerPoint Presentation of his good deeds to show the world his softer side.
In Wendy Murphy’s book “AND JUSTICE FOR SOME: An Expose of the Lawyers and Judges Who Let Dangerous Criminals Go Free” she tells how defendants (criminals, the accused) are taken care of by the legal system more than their victims. In fact, defense attorneys investigate victims and try to put the blame for the crime on them instead of where it belongs.
There should be someone who will argue for the rights of the victim. The Prosecutor doesn’t do it they represent the State, and the Defense represents the Accused. So who’s looking out for the victim? In reality victim’s rights are rarely enforced. Therefore, we need to restore the balance of justice to the victims.
Crime victims have a right to be heard in criminal proceedings and may directly address the court, with their own private attorney, to advance their rights under victims' "Bill of Rights" laws.
We’ve all heard many complaints about the (let’s not forget then-married) Steve Nodine's womanizing, his drug, alcohol abuse and impeachment. It seems many people in Mobile bore witness to his regular pattern of bad behavior, but few are willing to come forward with what they know. One anonymous person said, they honestly believe Nodine is a dangerous person but is afraid of losing their job or putting their family through this mess. So they choose to remain silent. This is why he’s gotten away with so much. Now Angel is dead.
Keep in mind that guilty people can often persuade themselves and others, that they’re innocent and they can be very convincing.
For the record the presumption of innocence is a courtroom rule – not a real world mandate. We can make our own judgments on the people we meet and the information we receive. We’d be fools not to. We all have to care about being fair in the courtroom. But erring on the side of caution in public is the better option.
To reduce Nodine’s bond made no sense. Was it because he served on the Alabama Sentencing Commission? The four guys charged with killing Kyser Miree are being held without bail in Mobile jail. I guess when you're a county commissioner; you follow a different set of rules.
And don’t let anyone lie to you about the definition of reasonable doubt. To quote Wendy Murphy, “Jurors can and should find a defendant guilty even if they have doubt as long as the doubt is not “unreasonable”.
Nodine like Drew Peterson had a public FriendsofSteveNodine site collecting funds for his defense. But it’s now been made private. And just like Drew Peterson defense fund - they also have yet to divulge how much money they raised.
We’ve all seen who Nodine’s friends are – a sketchy bunch of characters – with a weak bond. Tony Moore who owns Spot of Tea (who in the past served Federal time for his role in a gambling ring) and Mickey Dearmon another friend with a criminal past. Nodines choice of friends in his adult life supports the belief he suffers from an anti-social personality disorder.
Nodine doesn’t just have an addiction to booze, women and drugs. He has an addiction to power and attention. He feels power even now because he feels he is manipulating all of Mobile and Baldwin County.
In my opinion, Nodine most certainly has let us all down - numerous times! Not only in the impeachment but also in the Federal gun/drug case and, of course, the murder of Angel Downs'. He also violated his duty to support the U.S. and Alabama Constitutions? And why shouldn’t he be charged for that?
Both Steve Nodine and Drew Peterson “... lady killer’s” have had more than the usual 5 minutes of fame. And they love the limelight and can be heard asking “Don’t you know who I am?” They are not the kind of men who make history, but are the kind who make others suffer through it. The spotlight has always found them – the same way trouble does. Nodine, just like Peterson, knows how the system works and both have a history of slipping out of trouble.
Steve is online looking for love much the same way Drew did. Both used and abused their positions of authority and were charged with official misconduct (both quit before charges were taken to trial) Both have shown a pattern of deception in relationships and then further deception to cover up deception, making them less credible individuals. Makes one wonder why they have to lie about so many important things? Both are incapable of having any kind of honest relationship because all others are objects to be manipulated.
Just as Drew2 - Steve also meets several criteria for the anti-social personality disorder – sociopath (also called a psychopath.) Anti-social personality disorder3 is three times as prevalent in men as in women. The disorder4 begins in early childhood and family dynamics play an influential part.
Lack of remorse, indicated by being indifferent or rationalizing being hurt, mistreated or stolen from another.
He shows a lack of feeling or concern for his losses. He does though show a feeling of loss for himself. He sees himself as the victim.
Failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behavior by repeatedly performing acts which are grounds for arrest.
Steve’s alleged alcohol and drug abuse, misuse of funds and county vehicle makes it clear he sees himself above the law.
His arrogance and cockiness about any of the charges he is facing is feeding his ego. He thinks he’s not ever going to get caught or punished. He can get away with it all.
Deceitfulness, indicated by repeatedly lying, conning others for personal profit or pleasure
Refuses to take responsibility or accountability for any of his criminal actions. Also uses God, good works, and his own son and celebrity status to his advantage.
He admits to cheating, even taking his own son to spend time with his mistress. Nodine owning up to adulterous affairs sounds more like bragging.
Now that Angel is dead he can continue to play his egocentric games, as there is no one left to call him on it.
Nodine is trying to sell Mobile a softer side of himself. Hence, his writing a book and wanting to create a vehicle showing off all his so called good works. (Even when trying to display himself as a good church attendee he criticizes the rest of the congregation and calls them Dems who hate that he’s walking among them with his head held high.)
Watching him in the media videos he seems to have a hard time keeping eye contact, his eyes keep looking down and shifting. You’re trying to avoid something when you’re looking down.
Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead.
Irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults.
Angel, her friends and family say he was controlling, threatening and outright abusive even at public events and used his position of authority to escape and intimidate others.
Reckless disregard for the safety of self or others.
This is evident in the emails where Angel states she fears for her life. And calls him on his abuse of power and lack of good parenting.
Consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeat failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations.
OnJuly 27 BTR, hosts of Initiate Partner Homicide Investigations dedicated the show to Angel Downs. The family and friends of Angel Downs were to be the guests. The show was to be about Angel. How Angel was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and wife. How Angel was always special. Angel had spent most of her life severely ill with heart and kidney disease. She was on a transplant waiting list for years. And finally her doctors found the proper medication to keep her alive without the transplant.
Though Angel’s life had many medical ups and downs, she had been sheltered and cared for by a loving family and Dr’s and Nurses for most of her life. She was a fighter and she loved life, her family and all God’s creatures.
Angel was the optimist; she respected others and looked for peace. She was a realist who did the impossible by beating the odds. And just as she never worried about being born, she didn’t worry about dying, until she came to know Steve Nodine.
Mr. Nodine has shown everyone in Mobile how he’ll use anything to get what he wants. He uses his son, God, supposed good works and his celebrity status to his advantage. Many have seen his temper, his addictions and felt his intimidation.
Angel saw the light and made the decision to stop seeing him. She was moving on with her life. Angel wanted to be happy and to have a family, a good life with someone she loved. She knew she wasn’t defined by her mistakes but by God’s forgiveness. She also knew true love is sacrifice and God doesn’t want women to be abused or killed. Someone murdered her and they have to be brought to justice. If only pure, pristine souls could have justice for their murder we'd not even need a judicial system.
Nodine had shared too many of his secrets with Angel and worked hard to control her. If she got away she might be what brought him down. He had been in many bad spots before and always escaped accountability. Why should this be any different?
It was Mother’s Day; why wasn’t he spending it with the mother of his son? Could it be he wanted to see Angel, and he knew how to get her to say yes. I can imagine him saying Christopher has something to give you for Mother’s Day. It’s been rumored he often used his son to try to keep their rocky relationship going.
You see if you don’t confront a liar and a cheat and hold them accountable they are empowered to do it again and they get better at it.
Will there be Justice for Angel Downs? Yes, because God is a Just God. No matter what the court finds. God knows who murdered Angel and He will punish the wicked. To take a page from Nodine’s book - Pray for Nodine (the alleged perpetrator) to repent and come forth and stop putting others in danger.
Best of all the show was dedicated to the memory of Angel Downs. She will not be forgotten; her life still holds great purpose.

UPDATE: The latest in this case Nodine’s Attorney wants to federal firearms case on hold until after the former Mobile County commissioner goes to trial on a murder charge. Thankfully U.S. Magistrate Judge Sonja Bivins set it for trial in September, but would not wait for the murder case to be resolved. Nodine’s attorneys are asking that this be overturned. Atty. Armstrong states; "Further, a trial and conviction on the federal gun charge prior to the trial of his murder case will generate additional publicity, as has been clearly demonstrated by the inordinate and prejudicial coverage of defendant's arrest" and other proceedings.
Kevin Lee: If Partin upholds the motion for expediency on Aug. 25, they would have to set the trial date to start within 120 days. Federal in Sept and we could have a murder trial before Thanksgiving.

Even though accused lady killer Stephen Nodine is on so called House Arrest for the murder of Angel Downs, it hasn’t slowed him down. It would seem it has though sharpened his womanizing skills. A few of his recent female pigeons have chosen to share some of their experiences. Likening it to being chased by a landshark - a cunning urban predator. Thankfully they kept their distance and were not harmed. The RED FLAGS are up - he can pounce on you and you won’t even see it coming.

He suddenly relaized last week he needed a haircut - it's all messed up.
You hang around a barbershop or beauty shop long enough and sooner or later you'll get a hair cut - at least that's what they say... at Bella's Salon and Spa. For on July 21st at 10am in Mobile, AL a middle aged man comes in to get a hair cut. He sits downs - he has a certain air of arrogance about him? He asks repetitively “Don’t you know who I am? You really have no clue who I am?” (They must have missed the GPS on his ankle.)
The pretty hairdresser keeps working and answers “No should I?” Thinking maybe he’s a celebrity? The phone rings and the receptionist answers it, she yells out, “It’s a parole agent and he wants to speak to Steve Nodine."
One can imagine a collective - EWWWWW we had an accused murderer here in our Salon and didn’t even know it?! That's frightening!
Why didn’t Nodine go to a man's barber shop for his pseudo-military hairdo? Could it be because there are no women in a barbershop? He enjoys the game.
A womanizer is a man who always seems to make women fall for him. A skilled, charming man, not necessarily attractive, who can thoroughly make you believe that he loves you. Usually he is just there to get in your pants. However, there are actually some sadistic men out there who just like to do it for fun, or for control, attention, revenge or worse.
Men who murder their female partners are often motivated by a need to save face by regaining a sense of power and control if the woman threatens to leave, or does leave. Some men are jealous; some are hopped up on drugs; some are career criminals; some are suicidal or depressed; and some, are materially motivated. "Why Do They Kill?: Men Who Murder Their Intimate Partners" by David Adams
"They're narcissists," says retired FBI profiler Candice De- Long, who lives in San Francisco. "Life is all about them." "For narcissists, it's not just that they love themselves," DeLong says, "but it's how others see them. Their image to others, to the world, is what's really important. And to have a chink in that armor is totally unacceptable. And that chink can be anything." Often, it's a damning secret. Did Nodine fear Angel would tell on him? Steve has lead a very troubled past and his future is none too bright either.
According to Eric W. Hickey murderers of intimate partners are more likely to have a history of drug and alcohol abuse, to be more frequently intoxicated and to be more verbally abusive and physically violent.

I would like to believe there is a special place in hell reserved for evil monsters to travel who murder and take the lives of innocent angels here on earth.
The killer of Morgan Harrington is on that list. On October 17, 2009 Morgan attended a Metallica concert at the John Paul Arena. On January 26, 2010 her body was discovered at Anchorage Farm, Albemarle County, Virginia. The person(s) responsible at large, presumably still in the Charlottesville area. Morgan’s remains were left as though she were discarded and deliberately dumped like a piece of garbage. I could talk about the person responsible for murdering Morgan but law enforcement has yet to apprehend her killer. There may not be an arrest as of yet for this murdering hijacker of life, but I do know one thing for certain, this individual is breathing, living, talking and walking free among us.
If I had to describe the person he is a someone who blends in easily in any daily setting. If you work at Starbucks you could have handed him a cup of hot coffee over the weekend. Maybe this person stood in front of you in at the grocery store. It could be a person with whom you attend church. Maybe it is the helpful neighbor you know the guy who is always smiling and helps you with yard projects. Or when you need a jump because your car battery died he is Johnny on the spot with the jumper cables.
It could be the man who just proposed marriage recently to your own daughter. It is important because this seemingly nice man may have murdered an innocent angel.
Someone on those concert grounds at the John Paul Arena witnessed something. Either they are too fearful to come forward or think what they may have seen is not important, but in an unsolved murder investigation every detail leads to an important piece that is missing in the puzzle. What you may believe is silly or a waste of time to bother with, it is not! Did you see someone that looked like Morgan stumble or look like she needed help while you were attending the concert?
I am asking you to look closely at the photo of Morgan Harrington. I mean really look at it. She was very attractive and easily would have stood out in a crowded auditorium. Maybe she said "excuse me" as she passed by and you noticed her smiling at a person by an entrance or exit door. Perhaps in passing you noticed her in the ladies room. Or you could have seen her interacting with someone on the concert grounds. Morgan would not vanish on her own she likely left with a trusted person.
Dr. and Mrs. Harrington, Morgan’s parents, are waiting for anyone with information to come forward. Their lives have been turned inside out and upside down as they bow their heads in prayer asking God for answers. Their faith shaken at the possibility someone out there holds the key to their daughter’s killer.
Trauma to the spirit and soul when you have lost a child or a family member is no different than reaching inside a person and literally removing one’s heart. For this family they hold onto to the hope their daughter’s killer is apprehended. It is what fuels their days and restless nights.
